My name is called during meditation?

Hi,

Sometimes when I'm meditating, I will drift off to sleep. When that happens, there are times where I will hear a voice (can't tell if it's male or female, almost sounds staticky, like there's bad reception or something in the background) say my name.

They pronounce my name very clearly, it's almost like a whisper but it's loud enough to wake me up immediately and when I sit up in bed, I feel overwhelmed with excitement & a little fear since I don't know who or what it was. Is it my mind playing tricks on me? Or is spirit/someone trying to contact me? Any advice or explanations are greatly appreciated!

it sounds as though you are astral projecting, and the voice is from some entity in the etheric or astral realms.
