would a dark soul evolve?

My spirit guide tests me from time to time since I am still learning truth. We had a discussion about dark souls and apparently dark souls stay dark because they have no conscience. They are not aware of themselves and have no emotion, except for hate? Since there is no consciense they would not evolve to the light. I know this goes against peooles belief so I am testing it here. Evil people dont suffer and have no remorse. They just reincarnate all the time. It is interesting to note that clairvoyants who do see a souls aura do see grey or black if they look at a picture of an dark person. A dark soul would however have an important role in raising consciounceness of others who would evolve. There is then the exception of a soul who became dark but reformed himself because the source of his soul is not dark. We all have different soul sources. Sometimes again a good soul after dying woukd judge himself as bad and go to the dark for a limited time but to wake up to the truth of who he is. It is the souls higher self that would take her/him there. This is complicated and there is a lot to explain and comprehend but this is what I understood so far. Other views would be interesting at this point. I did try to bring this subject up with my yoga teacher who is a "yogi" but he was not sure.

You seam to have a completely different view of the soul, what the soul is in relation to the spirit and the body/mind.
I don't think I can give any input to your question.
To my a soul is never light or dark, it just is.
The path of development is chosen on an other level, even so the soul might or might not further a certain path.
The path toward the light is just one path, in the same way the path toward the dark. Non is higher then the other, and both will have to come to a path of union at some point.

To me it's about levels of consciousness and growth. The dark soul has no consciousness, no awareness of self and therefore cannot grow but is there for the development of the conscious soul. Light and dark come together on the earth plane which is the hardest planet to incarnate on but then there is the most potential for growth because of this duality.

In my understanding, the soul is consciousness, nothing else.

I guess you would call it dark consciousness although still no real awareness of self. The light cosciousness is linked to the dark consviousness so it can evolve.

Consciousness is neither, it just is. The expressions it creates can be light or dark or unfolding or controlling. No matter if they are self aware or not.
A dark or controlling entity or being can evolve to a very high level, to a point where it controls not just a planet but galaxies. And yes it will manipulate lower forms to do it's bidding.
Consciousness does understand the interplay of light and dark, and all development will at some point lead back to source. There is no other way.

Yes but how are you defining consciousness? Dark people may have intentions but no emotions so how can they evolve? Manipulation or control of other beings, planets, is not about evolving consciousness.

So is the dark soul's "higher self" darker or lighter than the lower self?

We can only conjecture and voice opinions.
Whatever the Greater Reality is of our existence and any form of polarity it may or may not contain is beyond the scope of human understanding currently.

This forum is often about discussing how things work in the spirit world though. Its intersting and helps us make sense of our existence. And my guide who i am very close to helps me see truth so that I understand myself and my world better. There is an importnat reason he brought this up. Especially now with all the seemingly senseless terrorism. Im just learning but it made sense in many ways. I am a healer and am very intuitive so have a deep understanding of how energy works but i am open to opinions on this.
