Crystal Skull shape designs

I was just curious why crystal skull stones was advertise as more powerful compared to other crystal shapes. I mean, it looks like some sellers like to tell us that there is something more special with a skull shape crystals, like it emanates some kind of mysterious powers more greater than ordinary crystals or stones.

Do you think this is just a commercially driven belief and ideas to make more money or it really generates special something in it? Or maybe, the source from where it came from are more important than the design shapes of a crystals?

I'm no expert (or even anything close to one) but I tend to agree that the source matters.

I am guessing that a skull shaped crystal would be a crystal manipulated by human intent. If they are hand carved, someone has put their intentions into the crystal while doing the carving and shaping. I hope that someone isn't terribly unhappy and is ok. A tumbled stone has been tumbled by machine and, therefore, has less long-term contact with another person and his or her intentions.

It's possible that none of what I'm saying even matters, but I just see shaping a crystal into a skull as a strangely human ego thing to do. But, perhaps there is a function for it...

That kind of thing can be removed from a crystal. All crystals brought should be cleaned properly so things like that aren't an issue or anything else picked up.
