does yoga effect the brain and heal it like medidation?
I have been going to yoga classes a few times aweek. Sometimes just restorative.
Is this the same as medidation? I mean will it make progress with medidation faster and easier> ?
During the sessions seems medidation and yoga would have same effect?

I see yoga as a form of meditation. Try not to worry about meditation being faster or easier as a result of yoga practice. Just do what you can do, but don't push it. If yoga makes the path to the stillness inside of you easier, then I think that's great. One isn't better than the other. More like fingers on the same hand. Enjoy!

Yoga was originally a system of practice developed for meditation (dhyana). It was preparation for sitting. All the postures and breathing techniques help to ease the body out which in time will help cleanse the mind as well.
Good yoga teachers will always have some time at the end of class for relaxation in corpse posture, breath work (prana yoga) or meditation.

One of the reasons meditating while lying down is not recommended is because you are likely to fall asleep!!
Yoga can be considered as a physical form of meditation. The asanas and stretches all work your body and open all your muscles. Yoga can have a calming effect on the body and in turn makes meditating easier.

in yoga getting into all these postions forces us to medidate
Like we have no choice because we are trying so hard to stay in that position our minds hardly wander
SO i thought it would have the same effect as a hour long medidation? It is hard to start medidation without yoga then? Unless you have a strong mind.

Yoga allows the energy to flow clears up blockages opens all the chakra’s and you use the flow to meditate and be one with everything.
