curious to know what next??
Hi
I have been meditating for 30 min twice a day, now only 20 min + 10 min priar meditation for about 3 and a half months.
I felt during my meditation like my head was swelling and it felt heavy
like my body felt like it was turning to rock.
The other time i felt like in between my eyes was throbbing and it was painful.
I know this is normal but i am very curious what is happening?
Just want to learn about this.
I know you should take it day for day but i am excited to know what happens
next???
How long does it take to connect with you soul and really feel great after meditating??
thanks

Meditating should always feel good.
If you feel your head is swelling, you're focusing too much on the higher chakras, mistake many ppl make. First learn to ground yourself and work on the lower chakras. That way you build stability in your energy system. And when grounded, any excess energy can simply disappear as opposed to build up in your energy system, causing discomfort and feelings like your head is swelling.
I'm almost 100% sure if you learn to ground, your problems will be over.
Compare it to building a skyscraper: you don't start with the top floor, you start with the foundation. It's rather pointless to start with the top floor. Same if you try to build a skyscraper without foundation. Somewhere along the line the whole thing will collapse and you can start from scratch.
So work on your foundation and don't focus so much on being able to 'reach' higher energies. It doesn't work that way ... Your energy system has to be ready for that, so it can handle higher energies. Without proper foundation, getting your energy system to work better etc., it won't really work, or make you feel highly uncomfortable.

Doesn't sound good to me. If something doesn't feel good and/or causes serious discomfort, one better stop what one's doing. Either you're doing something wrong or it doesn't suit your system. I'd stop using this method and find something that does work for you.
But to each his own ...

Stop trying to control things, let go and have no expectations!
How long are you meditating for?
Are you doing it twice a day?
Do you do any practices before meditation like pranayama? If so what and how long?
Meditation make the brain grow among other things. If you are experiencing pain, it means to cut back your time.

I would say do whatever method speaks to you. Find a tried and true method. You can look at the method I use aypsite.org or many buddhist methods that have a series of practices that build upon each other in a safe manner with proven results.
For me, within two weeks my soul was singing.. no lie it was bliss I was so happy for days. It comes and goes now. Sometimes it last for a couple of months, sometimes weeks. It is a blessing.

Twice daily. I am sold on it and would never mention it if I didn't do it. The forums are full of great information.
I am a regular on both forums if you have any questions.
