what plane is ap? and..hearing voices afterwards

Hey guys,

This sounds like a simple question. Just wondering what dimension we are in when we astral travel?
Oh and another question just popped up, sorry. I noticed after my first ap (Thanksgiving) I am hearing voices in my room in the wee hours of the morning. Never hapenned before that. I am not scared, which is strange. Once I heard someone say "sshhhh!" And then a few other times inaudible voices. My boyfriend says "I am opened myself up" although I don't really think astral travel does that since everyone does it, I just did it consciuosly. Thanks!!

Well, congratulations on your first astral projection!
Your boyfriend is right; you have opened yourself up.
Astral projection is natural -I believe, or else it wouldn't happen spontaneously (as it often does to many people.) However it is not as simple as a walk in the park. You enter another dimension. This is wonderful, amazing, but isn't to be taken lightly.
As soon as you enter the next dimension; the astral dimension, things follow different 'laws of nature' than they do on the physical plane.
Many spirits dwell and move in these dimensions. And projectors are extremely small fish in an immense pool. Many novice projectors haven't the first clue about what they are doing and how to move, behave, and relate to others, in these planes. Meanwhile, the spirits who dwell there are skilled at things we can't even imagine, and know their way around better than human projectors often do.

Try not to be afraid. If your projection wasn't meant to be, it would never have happened. But now it's up to you to either take full responsibility for that, and learn, or to back off. There is no shame in choosing to back off. Listen to your instincts and Soul needs. If something is right for you -carry on. If you sense it isn't -call a halt for now.

Spiritual progress counts for a lot on the astral. That is -your inner spiritual maturity, which is possible to work on and realize, even without leaving the body. Some fly off the seat of their pants, and learn as they go along. With some it's wise to know exactly where you are coming from first, before venturing into deeper dimensions. It's up to you. But now you have been there once, maybe that's the next step in your progress, and things you need to learn....

To answer your question:
The astral dimension is vast and extends right from the fringes of the Mental Plane (very high astral where peace, harmony, compassion, and unconditional Love are dominant)....right down to the plane nearest Earth. This is called the Real Time Zone, and is coarser in vibration, as it is closer to physical density.
And emotions, experiences, etc run the whole range through the astral, from the very coarse vibrations, to the most fine.

There really is no possible measurement of the Astral Worlds, they are so vast. Nothing like this Earth, where things can be measured and mapped.

Hearing the voices.....
It might be wise to let go of them. Changing your focus of interest, and concentrating on other things will most likely make them go away. Even if you are Mediumistic, you wouldn't wish to be hearing voices intrude into your everyday life uncalled-for.
Mediums have Guides and 'door-keepers'. I am not a Medium, so can't advise beyond saying that. Maybe someone else here will be able to help?

There are an unlimited number of planes one can AP to. The most common are the RTZ (realtime zone - the same plane you phyically live in) and of course the 7 astral planes.

Gee....I don't know about seven planes...but I do know of nine.

The lowest three are the Hellish Planes, then the next one is Purgatory, then the fifth is this one, the Earthly realm, then ours, Soul Society (so named for the soul records housed in the Libraries all ascending to the Supreme Library, also called the Akashic, plus the reapers that live there; but mainly for the former) and lastly, the three remaining Divine realms.

In order from descending to ascending of course.

But there are in-between states of being between realms, the corridors of light for the upper planes and darkness for the lower that spirits use as a crossroads.
