Bites
I am very partial to the mozzies, midges and things that bite. They just love me.
I also react magnificently to bites - swelling, itchy, lots of white blood cells and the like.
Any suggestions for prevention / relief?
Other than witch hazel? And antihistamines?
I'm going to be outdoors a lot soon and I've got a couple of bites on me which are showing themselves up!

Meat tenderizer works. Works well for bee stings, too. Mix one part meat tenderizer with four parts water. Soak a cotton ball in the mixture and hold it to the bite for about 15 minutes. A substance called papain in the meat tenderizer will help to break down the insect venom's proteins. Also hydrocortisone cream helps.

Wood ash mixed with water helps. Doesn't last as long as Benadryl cream, but helps

I seem to react hugely badly to bites - and I've gained a couple more thanks to the 8 mile walk of yesterday.

I love marmite and eat it by the bucket so I'm surprised I still get eaten alive!

get some baking soda and make it pasty with some water. put it on your bite, it will take the itch away. i dont know what mozzies and midgies are, but i do know that marigolds keep mosquitos away. maybe there are some flowers that keep away mozzies and midgies.

Thanks Gracey
Yes mozzies are mosquitoes - it's so common in UK that I forget it's not the real word. Apologies.
I may well get some drier sheets. you know how it is with all the things to put on your skin - the sun cream and then bug spray - it gets a bit ick.
