Finally, an answer ....
Finally an answer to the question you have always wondered about ...
Question ~ What to do with the lone sock, when the other one has gone missing ?
Answer ~ Put the sock on your hand, add a little furniture spray and dust your furniture !
(what a creative answer, wish I had thought of this ! )
And when you are finished dusting, toss the sock in the washing machine,
who knows ... you might find both socks next time you check !
