Calling a person by another person's name

So I went on a date this week with a guy that I met online and I really like him. We had a great night together at a restaurant and as he walked me out to my vehicle, I thanked him for the wonderful time. However, I didn't say, "Thank you for everything, ~his correct name~." I said someone else's name! A co-worker's name I was so embarrassed, but I tried to hold back the blushing and nerves by calmly explaining that I work with the guy and lately this week we have been working a lot together for the students (he and I are teachers). But my date seemed flustered and upset. He did chuckle at it, but it was that kind of chuckle that was like, "I can't believe you did that!"

I feel so bad and have been upset afterwards cause I really do like him. We got home late from the date so I didn't expect to hear anything from him for the rest of the night and the next morning I sent him a text thanking him again for the wonderful time and all. I am not sure what else to do except that it breaks my heart cause of one silly mistake that I did. Did any of you guys ever done such a thing and what can you do to fix it?

a few months back i was dating a guy from on line and had a conversation with another on the phone, their names rhymed. i was so worried of calling one the other. and in this worry i turned on the tv to watch a show and on there a girl kept calling her date by another name. ugh! i ended up calling the guy by the other name. he laughed it off and i never heard from him again. but ya know it worked out great, i am with the other guy since valentines day and we get along just great.

I've done that before, doesn't matter who it is lol. If somethings on my mind regarding another, that name will pop up. As far as love goes...I dated 4 people with the same first name, including my ex. Who I'm with now shares the same name. I don't have to worry about that lol...
