Hi!
I'm currently a middle-aged guy in São Paulo, Brazil. Most of my life, I held a skeptical, scientificist worldview. A mental breakdown opened a crack in my defenses and I glimpsed...
Not sure
what I glimpsed, but I've been breaking down my mental defenses ever since, "taking in" more and more.
I have always been a voracious reader, and if computers were the center of my life before the crack, spirituality has been the ever-expanding perimeter since.
One last thing I feel I must mention, is my atheism. Beliefs are, for me, the columns and beams of worldviews, of perspectives. And just as I see countless "temples", where obviously the gods are there, supporting the Above, I also see countless buildings, where raw matter, immaterial consciousness or something else, supports the roof. I am a devoted learner and will lovingly learn all about religion, but I will never say atheism can't be true. It has its place, it is compatible with (some) spirituality, and my roots are there. So if something I write seems to be a dent in your faith, please take a moment to consider if I may be making a small clearing in your sacred ground to plant a seed of materiality, which is secretly sacred in its profanity.
Cheers!
