The stuff of childhood memories and nightmares. I later came to see them as men in white coats that would come to take one away to what one's of me age group would term the "Rubber Room" or "Nut House" . Was it for me simply that as a child I saw and heard dead people and I was TOLD from the age of 6 never ever to talk on it out of the real fear of being LOCKED UP.

I used to have perennial false awakenings as a child where white-skinned men would come through walls and attack me. It was always in slightly altered replicas of my house at the time. I thought my mum had made changes to the house while I'd been asleep. Then the grinning white naked men would come through walls.

Looking back I do not remember anything other than "white" not sure if they were clothed or not. I was such a sheltered child I honestly would not have processed that information. I do remember may things coming through the walls that still happens but NOW I know its simply Spirits coming for contact is all. Rare does it alarm me now.

I often woke up not KNOWING where I was that happened even after I moved in with me mate. He would find me outside at times even. I would NOT seem to know where I was or how I often got places. I feel I was travelling in that lucid dream state is all.

I also experienced floating out-of-body many times as a child. The white men plagued me throughout most of my childhood. I'd tell my mum about the "dreams that feel real". My mother was concerned and as an African woman with spiritualist beliefs, she decided to burn some incense. The "white man dreams" gradually went away...

The stuff of our childhood stories at times. Monster under the bed....ext. We are so programmed to that from such an early age. I remember reading those books to me kids and thinking am I setting up the stuff for nightmares.

Exactly. I was about to come to this. In fact I remember my aunt and cousin teasing me with the boogieman at the time.

When trying so to explain this to me kids I was blessed to find a book written for children " Mountain's, Meadow's and Moonbeams" A Child's Spiritual Reader by
Mary Summer Rain.

She explains that we have two bodies the physical one where we be everyday and the Spiritual one that we can learn to use whenever we want to.

She explains that at times when one is being very quiet our Spirit Body will separate from the physical one. We can think on where we want to go and remember where we went when we come back.

Now looking back to what teachers would report about me "constant state of day dream but always aware of where the lesson is...."Only possible is only part of me left the classroom. I got the same reports on me children. One got the ADHD label and I honestly choose to put him in the med's for a year til he got an understanding on it all. NOW its fine no issues as the school gets it. I have to wonder on HOW many are not truly ADHD but are travelling out....and we do not as of yet embrace that possiblity.

For me Son he had knowlege of the ocean botton in such details that unless he "SAW" it he would not know, as he reads at a very low grade level. He has been KNOWN to correct the teacher too on many facts lol. They are at a loss on how to evalulate him as he knows so much but can read so little. I feel he simply GOES to see what he wants to learn.

Odd looking back to reading all those stories to me kids they NEVER beleived that was real the "Monster Under the Bed" to them it was something "Real" and it was. It was Spirits they were connecting with not the stuff ( I feel ) of story.

With me eldest Son he knows everthing about WWII it seems in great details but again reads not at grade level. He said he simply goes there with a Spirit to see it. To feel it and learn it. Thus he just aced History Class this term. The teacher thought OK he is holding back on us....on what he knows. TRY explaining that he goes to SEE IT to the conventional systems in place.

I will face LOL the same challenges when he goes off to High School with the file about me and him that will travel with him. I hope for the same open mindedness I have thus found.

We all travel it is just on what "Level" of acceptance maybe we grow up with or what we are open in childhood to share. For me that was NOTHING but too it made me ready for what I have as children.

Yesterday I was down for the count with an Asthma attack, I slept most of the day and evening and I drifted so in and out. I finally ended the day with a fever and OMG where one goes in illness is a very frightening place at times. Its like your no longer in full control of the physical body. I have always had swords fly at me with a fever but none hit me. I too so travel but dont know where I have gone. Its like a fuzzy hangover the next day almost. Is that maybe the body's way of easing the pain's ?

I've hallucinated a few times when I was really ill. It could be the body's way of easing the pain. My wife had an "out-of-body" experience so to speak when she was pregnant with my youngest and on gas and air. One moment she was at the hospital and the next she was sitting at a table with members of her family (including her mum). Her mum was at the hospital too! lol!

I'm glad you mentioned ADHD as it is indeed a label. Most people are unaware that ADHD is a condition that can have and has had its benefits in the human gene pool.

Certain alleles found in ADHD individuals can be traced back to the time when humans were migrating and considering moving out of Africa. They needed to be adventurous and of a nature where they wouldn't hesitate in taking risks. They needed to act on impulse to survive. That's where those alleles came in.

What was once a great boon is now largely seen as a "disorder". Perhaps this label came about because times have changed and people feel the condition is unproductive as we have conquered the world.

Oh, sorry, Lynn. I hope I haven't influence anyone here with that. I have gone through a dark period of substance abuse. I would advise people to steer clear of them especially when some are still being studied.

Although I was lucky enough to have moved on unaffected, my mate wasn't as he woke up blind and has been blind since after taking LSD. Profound experiences can be attained at our request and with better clarity via OOBEs and lucid dreaming.

NO, dont worry on that we just really are mindful its an "all ages" site is all. We all have our dark places we have been too. While I never did the drugs personally I have seen the damage they do. I went with me mate down his three year path of healing from his addictions. I was told by his probaation councellor to RUN and not look back. While I was still very dumb honeslty to it all I did not run. I stood and faced what might well come. He healed but its always still in the back of me mind. NOW that we have three kids its even more so there.

I have seen the darkest of dark places drugs takes one's. WHILE yes they do seem to OPEN one to "Other" epxeriences they are not natural to the body. So is it worth the risks for the rewards ???? That is an individual choice for some I guess. I spent almost 3 year's working with a volenteer skid row outreach program so I have SEEN all that one can see. I have seen the highs and lows and even death. Being empathic I was able to feel in what one's were experiencing and I can honstly say there is NOTHING natural about it. They very much felt trapped in that body in that time and space not free roaming like they thought.

There is no harm in discussing where one has gone as one is on that healing path and might well from that help another heal. Its the disucssion openly of taking things to bring on this event....as that so is not something I would want a child of mine to ever try. TOO I never thought that me mate would turn to the hard core substances out there either. When I was told what he was on I was STUNNED I had no foundations to understnad such things growing up.

We are here to support other's I hope that one is well and those dark times are now behind one. So no appolgies needed for sharing one's past....as it would seem there was much learning from that place and one seems to be on that healing path.
