No because you don't manifest cars. You manifest experience. You can manifest the circumstances that lead you to being able to attain your car if that's what you truly desire. But it's not about manifesting 'things.' You manifest your joy.

I was reading an article online recently about OCD and neuroplasticity, the ability of brain cells to develop new patterns of reaction. It said that the brain can actually create a new response if one repeatedly counters the thoughts and fears and compulsions by thinking "This is just my OCD, not rational, not realistic." Similar to what others here have said. I don't have OCD, but I have similar problems sometimes. Hopefully this may be useful. Supposedly, a certain part of the brain is more active, and another part less active, and a normal step that allays fear and anxiety in most people doesn't occur with people with OCD, but the part of the brain that is overactive can be used to actually counteract the fear with practice and cognitive restructuring, is what the article said.

Well, I personally don't believe in the 'law of attraction', so I think you are worrying needlessly. Worrying about worrying will never get you anywhere. Perhaps try to focus on things that are more uplifting?

The "secret' idea is silly on so many levels. Do you think the people who had their homes wiped out by Hurriane Katrina "attracted" that? I think the whole thing is just new age mumbo jumbo that was created to sell books.

Hirandall, I hope that it works for you.
I think the quote from Emmett Fox means that if you approach something from the mindset of acceptance and love, instead of fearing or resisting it, it will not have the power to hurt you, you will be able to find a way to overcome it or use if for your benefit. I chose that signature because I have experienced something like that when I thought I sensed negative spirits that seemed to mean me harm. I found that by continual trying to cultivate a will and consciousness that focused on God, the higher truth of love, ultimate love and the interconnectedness of all, eventually those negative spirits left or at least didn't hurt me. I asked God for protection, tried to dwell in his love, most of all I just focused on the thought and feeling of the ultimate love and wisdom of God, as I conceive God, being the full truth of love, the interconnected love for the highest good.

Sometimes these malignant-seeming spirits even seemed to turn around and change nature when I approached them with acceptance and love, and to then become helpful and good. Just as with people, I think spirits can be a mix of good and bad. I'm trying to go beyond even using the words good and bad any more than necessary, because it seems that so much of the definition (all of it, perhaps?) is situational, subjective, prone to fluctuation and not a useful label to try to pin on someone or something as if it is only good or only bad, good or bad through and through. In this case, I am not sure what a better, clearer word might be, but the good and bad labels are just approximations, not substantial and objective.
