Hello, Quiet!

I think this is something I relate to well enough. While I am not mute, I have a panic disorder as well as social anxiety. I rarely leave my dwelling. Many members of my family also have anxiety issues, speaking issues, and the like.

I agree with some prior posters. Perhaps you could find someone to sing for you.

With that having been said, why do you feel you need a voice to your music?

For many years, music was done without voice. Some of the most beautiful music in our world's history has no words, no voice, nothing more than the feeling and heart behind the music being played.

Have you ever heard a song where the words are meaningless to you, but the sounds are what you connect to? Or perhaps the words of a song are awe-inspiring, but the notes have no heart? Music doesn't have to be both notes and voice.

So, I go back to my question -- why do you feel the need for a voice? Is it that your songs have words you need to express? Is it that you feel like the entire meaning isn't getting out there? Is it more of a confidence issue that you feel you can't convey things as well as you'd like?

To me, sometimes, the best stories are the ones left open for interpretation. The ones that we can see and hear what we need to hear. We can each use our own imagination to feel the heart of the song. If you feel a song you're playing, chances are others will feel it, too. Perhaps they won't hear the same story, but it might resonate within them, spawning their own story from the inspiration of your song's heart.

I truly hope that makes sense. I'm bad at explaining myself. Perhaps you should meditate on it all like others have suggested. Good luck on your path, friend.
