I agree, being flexible is important, I am mindful of other surrounding cards during a reading as well as the question and also if I'm doing positional meanings, which I tend to do most of the time.. It's all about trusting my own ability with what I see as I read, so your right there!
I have always found it interesting getting other readers insights on certain cards, everyone can have a different take, and the beauty of that is it works, that's why I love tarot, so many different meanings and layers, seen in so many different ways.. There are no rules or set in stone meanings that have to be followed, just our own personal interpretations.
