Elementals of Tropical Climates
I live in a very warm climate near the beach. I just wonder what I would be looking for out here. Would they be in the water? Near the beach? Further inland where we have more traditional foliage?

That's an interesting question; although I would think that Water elementals are near the water and Earth elementals are close to the land/earth. And of course Air and Fire elementals would be the same wherever you are, IMHO.

There are spirits all over, and stories of many different creatures and elementals. Check out "The Book of Fairies: Nature Spirits from around the world" by Rose Williams.

Copied this for you:
Undines are water elementals, and as such, spirits of the water world. We could say an Undine is a personification of water. Many schools of thought liken Undines to sprites, nymphs and mermaids.

Thanks, Treehugger.
I know everyone's probably thinking "just google it" but I really like hearing other people's experiences as well so I have more to look into.

my concern is that people might become fearful from exploring unexamined emotional depths.
the water holds many mysteries beneath the surface.
what may turn up?
the Kraken, Cthulhu, Scylla and Charybdis, even the dreadful Mermaids! all (maybe) linger below the waves.
i suppose it may be important (for many) to to be fully "grounded" before venturing out of landsight.
teak., you might encounter such beings in any environment (i imagine)...
wherever you may go, they most likely have access as well.
their "natural habitat" is otherwordly however, and particular Earthly locations may be easier to access than others (for them).

I'm not afraid of turning up with anything "scary" or negative. Maybe this is naive, but I have a very sincere way about me. People and animals trust me easily, so I'm hoping anything I encounter will sense that and not cause harm. I'm not looking to change their world, just meet them.
