sleeping problems and christianity.
I got a prayer book yesterday and prayed like never before. That night I went to bed and had the worst night ever. Was I being told to not pray? I thought the bible said that prayerlessness is sin?

Try praying in morning instead? Prayer is to help us, I believe. It does thing we can't see. It shouldn't be strained and stressful, but just done in faith that it works.

God always hears/knows your thoughts/intentions ...
The act of quiet prayer is for the good of the human; it's calming ...
Kneeling demonstrates your own humilitiy ...
Praying maintains your faith ...
None of these are for the good of God ...
Everything you do in the name of God is for your benefit ...
However, in your case, your fear of sin made prayer work against you b/c of a misunderstanding of the purpose of prayer ...
Regardless of what you're doing your thoughts of God are prayers ...
Praying = thinking of God's will can be done any time, any place, all day long, once a day or whatever your choice is ...

Not being able to sleep one night waiting for God's reply -
On this Forum it may be that many Gods do reply.
That is not a bad night.
Still, there is often a brighter night in dreams
than in daylight
May dreams
bring you light.

I don't think there is a god out there to answer your prayers, when you pray you are praying to yourself, for you are the only one who can answer your prayers, maybe subconsciously you feel you cannot make your prayers come true and therefore can,t sleep.
