Going through a Metamorphosis and I could use some venting and help.

I consider myself spiritual and a practicing Wiccan. I also encorperate native American spirituality and new age/metaphysics into my beliefs. I recently got a major major MAJOR surgery done on my nose. I had a severe deviated septum and major sinus problems. Healing was a b*tch, to say the least. It's going to take 4+ months to heal. I'm swollen and in some pain and doscomfort but I can breathe and smell. I was neve able to smell through my right nostril-ever. It's a totally new experience for me. The surgery was originally gunna be 2 hours. Then 4. Finally it was 5 1/2 hours. It seems I am going through a spiritual metamorphosis along with a physical metamorphosis. I've been reading up on many beliefs and I recently read of Scientology.

I knew some info in the past about it, but this is the first time I've ever really looked into it. I don't care for the negative connotations, rumors and media press against it so please keep it out. I must say, the churches architecture is magnificent and beautiful. Mystical. Modern, clean, yet futuristic and home feeling. I am an artist so I can appreciate such work. My mom says im becoming obsessed with Scientology. I don't think it's obsession. I've looked and read into satanism for a few months, and a few other beliefs so I don't see the big deal about me becoming interested with a belief system. Call it a cult, that's fine. People call satanism a cult. By law it's a religion there for you must treat it like such and have respect.

My whole point and question I guess is, is it normal to maybe lose your old self and come back new and looking for a new adventure in your life after a major life changing surgey such as mine? Before my nose was crooked and my senses were blocked. Now my nose is straight and continuing to look better everyday. Is all this normal? Should I be concerned? I feel there's a great force in me there moving like the earth around the sun. Slowly but getting there...it's a metamorphosis....but it's a lot of work and thinking. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Also I used to be roman catholic until I grew up and didn't agree with the belief.
