Totems?

So I connect very highly to about four kinds of animals. I consider the first two my animal guides, but the other two hold some meaning for me.

Snake
Alligator
Butterflies/Moths
Bobcats

within the last week, I have literally had to take a small snake out of my art studio, and then tonight I was coming home from the studio and a moth was hanging out on my welcome mat. She let me handle her.

Are they trying to tell me something, or am I like reading too far into it? How can I better understand what they're trying to say if they are?

Yes I would say that they are either giving you a message or just letting you know there around. Or to say that things are meant to be.
I am very connected to message birds such as ravens and magpies and they often come to me just to let me know there are around. Sometimes they have a message for me too. They sometimes fly overhead or come sit next to when when I am outdoors. They come to me often to reassure me that the event that has just passed is for a reason. They can also be a warning sign. I am sure you will know what they are trying to tell you if you let your gut work it out and follow your natural senses. Good luck and I am sure you will work things out in time.
