Trying to heal again...

When I was younger I found out that I had natural healing abilities (much like my Grandad) so I used to practice healing with him and it was going really well. Years and years ago he had damaged his shoulder while at work and one day I offered to try and heal it for him. Everything was going well, like normal when suddenly the pain of his shoulder shot up from my hand straight up my arm. It was so severe and painful, gave us both quite a shock and we stopped immediately. However, since that day I have never been able to heal again, I've tried many times and I get nothing. Is there anything I can do? I wonder if I may have put some mental block on it (like I did with many other spiritual things) and if I have, how can I get over it?

Was your Grandad’s shoulder better after you took on his pain? Did your Grandad know about discharging energy after healing? Did you do this?

You could have had a mental block after that startling experience. I would suspect more that this caused you to have some previously unexperienced fear about healing & this fear is more than enough to keep you from accessing the frequency of energies needed to heal.

It isn’t the objective of the healer to take on the person’s illness or problems. It is important for healers to discharge any energy they take on from the patient. Some healers discuss using their self to channel the Universal energy, but keeping their own energies apart from the healing.

You might be able to do various things to address this. Actively discharge any energy that remained in your energy field from that incident, no matter how long ago it was. This link is about a different issue, but the same things apply about discharging any unwanted energies.

Visit w/ your spiritual team to tell them you want to clear your energies & resume to be a healer. Move into the view that you WILL get back to accessing this energy & away from looking at this as a permanent thing. See it as more of a mere interruption. Work on moving past the fear that this incident caused. This fear will likely be part of the energetic refuse that is mentioned in the above link. Instead of healing others, focus right now on doing the things that will raise your expand your consciousness.

It may be that something like appreciating this incident gave you a first hand experience that one can actually take on another’s energy will help you move past it. Loving it for the learning experience it was.

He has problems in both shoulders now because he needs shoulder replacements but I believe he never experienced that particular problem with his shoulder again so it did cure his pain. However, we have never really known much about healing or any spiritual communications etc, we only scratched the surface so neither of us had any idea about discharging the energy. It absolutely makes sense to - now you've said it! I don't think my Grandad is as much as a healer as me so he didn't know to tell me and being young at the time I probably didn't even consider it?

I really appreciate the explanation though, it seems to be quite likely. Thank you for the link too, I'm definitely going to try and see if I can discharge all this energy. I suppose because it was such a shock it did instil a little fear in me, because the pain was very extreme, though I never would have thought it had put any fear into me, not in an active way at least.

At the moment I'm just beginning to open up my consciousness again. When this happened (I may have been about 12 or 13 and am now 21), I was experiencing quite a number of supernatural things but I guess I got a bit frightened and closed myself off to it. Very recently though, I've started experiencing more things again and I feel.. more ready I suppose, to try and open myself up to it all more. Perhaps once I've achieved that, I should then try to get back to the healing again. When I do, I'll surely let you know!
