Easter a Poem by Nicholas Hartman
Easter
“Strange how history is written
What was once pagan
Now conformed to a new religion completely
When one looks upon history’s pages
Of all that was written
Of all that was changed
Have we looked at all that was lost?
The pages that were torn
And the words distorted
Left to be ash in a strong wind
The runes of old and ancient pagan words
All but forgotten
But still
You may hear the whispers
The true names
Humans may have sent the ashes to the wind
But the wind can tell the story better than any of us
So I beg you to listen
To the whispers on the breeze
And hear the true story of what was
History may be written in the eyes of the conqueror
But nature has its own stories to tell”
Nicholas Hartman
