Thrashing and clawing frantically from beneath the bed
They gouge at your eyes making home in your head
Stirring you and frightening you no longer at night
A status of permanent residence
Begins a long-term fight
Lunging, grabbing and letching
Their hunger so ferrous
causing mindless despair
Our hearts start lagging
Claws upon our fists rising from fear
We wipe our own blood from our noses
Screaming but no one can hear
Like a sad clown who cant stop smiling
These silent cries falling upon deaf ears
Hopelessness marries despair
you exist waiting to die
That innocent invitation
the negativity that gets you high
take back the invite
unleash upon them new found light
for its that voice that makes you feel frozen
the one that makes you feel you can not try
this monster that you are feeding
is the part of you, you must deny.
