Question Burial

I have a question on burial versus cremation. I was discussing what I would like when I die with my boyfriend and he was some what appalled with my wishes. I told him If possible I would like to be buried in a way the That I could go back to the earth meaning without a casket so I could be absorbed and give back to the earth that I love. I don't know if that would even be allowed. If not I would rather be cremated. I posted this here because my beliefs are closely related to native americans even though as far as I know I am mostly Scottish. I would like some opinions on this subject and to find out if it is possible to be buried without a casket.

Sounds nice to be buried without a casket. If I had land, I would want to be buried on it, and nourish it. Or like you said, at least cremated.

I too want to be buried and nourish the land, which is why I am so happy that they do have biodegradable caskets...

I am pretty sure that you can be buried without a casket or coffin. Depends on the cemetery. You can always check with your local cemetery...

You can get a permit to be buried without a coffin as long as it is on your own property. Also, there are what are called "Green Burials" that employ a
cardboard casket.

Try greeburials.org or naturalburial.coop for more information.
