Big Bang Theory a hoax?
I am sick of people taking the big bang theory for granted as if it's been proven that the universe originated this way. I even turned on the T.V. today and tuned to a science program about black holes and they said that Einstein proved the big bang theory. That is total ****. Einstein didn't even believe in the big bang theory.
Personally I think that one day we will discover that the big bang theory was wrong all along. As are many other things that society has taken for granted. That isn't to say that God created the world in 7 days. I don't believe that either. I just don't think the big bang theory pans out for a number of reasons. I do believe in God though and so I am more inclined to believe in a universe that was created than one that exploded out of a singularity.

try looking at the big bounce theory. It made a lot of sense.

Thanks for your post. Scientific observation tells us that the universe is expanding so it makes sense that the universe could be oscillating. But I don't think it ever collapsed all the way to a singularity. Scientists will tell you that it is mathematically impossible to explain how a singularity can spontaneously explode into a universe. So I can buy the bounce theory but I don't think the universe does anything more than breath like a set of lungs. It never collapses all the way down. It just goes through cycles of growing and shrinking.

Hmm. that's a distinct possiblity. When I saw it, (from wht I remember) it implodes on itself, so I don't see how it COULD happen from the singular. I like the analogy of the lungs. It makes sense. I think I've still got this taped, I'll try and find it tomorrow and get back to you .. I can't remember what channel it was on - it could well have been on bbc which would be on iPlayer.

One of the most stunning successes of the big bang theory is the prediction that the universe is approximately 10 billion years old, a result obtained from the rate at which distant galaxies are flying away from each other.

I found this on the web. It's already been proven that the universe is much much older than just a mere 10 billion years. They've also discovered that red shifts are not only the result of the speed that something is traveling away from us, but that there must be other significant factors as well with the discovery of objects in space that are closely associated with each other and yet have significantly different red shifts.

The big bang theory may not be totally right but it sure leaves the 7 day creation theory standing looking silly.

The bounce theory is a nice idea but not possible. If it were true then the universe's expansion rate would have to slow down, come to a stop and then reverse. All measurements point to the opposite, the rate of expansion is in fact increasing.
The Big Bang theory is the best model we have at the moment. If you have a better one then publish it and it will be considered.
At the point of singularity, and maybe even before that, all physical laws we know of break down. This means we have no idea what happens at that point and to think about it in terms of what we know makes no sense at all.

We know that it isn't possible for light to escape a singularity, much less an entire universe. That should be enough.
My point is that people have continued to latch onto the Big Bang theory for no other reason than it sounds good and it's popular even though there is enough evidence now to dismiss it.

I have a theory that the Big Bang never happened. Like you said I don't think the universe was created in 7 days. I don't believe that either. But I do believe in God and an eternal Creator. How exactly he created the universe and how He or the universe came into being, I do not know. But I would guess that the universe is much older than the estimated 10 billion years and that it is always under constant change and creation.
