A lot of spiritual people over look their body, believing it’s unimportant to the spiritual journey. My experience with my death awareness, is that in wanting to live and live fully, I have to honour my body. Take care of it so I can live more holistically, it’s the vehicle in which all it me can be expressed and enjoy my life experience. So there is that.
I think a healthy relationship with one’s body, is not about attachments, it’s about self care.
Maybe you don’t need to quit, but rather just notice and allow..

Funny for me walking through the death surrender, I had the awareness of putting my hand on my chest, listening to my heart, beating loud and strong, then suddenly my heart stopped. I remember saying. “Is that it?” Out loud and heard a voice say “Yes”..
The harrowing lead up to that moment suddenly bought me deep peace.

Can you imagine looking at the patient monitor and there is basically no heartbeat and respiratory is 0 (zero)?
I was sitting up in the hospital bed watching what was being monitored.

Rah Nam, you have hit the nail on the head, because what it feels like, at least to me, is much more than what it looks like. Feeling or touch, is the primordial sensation on which all other sensations are based, including sight. An at the time of physical body death what we were in touch with will determine how, and what, we feel.
Our deeper being is much finer than our physical body, and as we leave our body we are one with that deeper being, our immortal selves. What a person feels at the time of death depends on them. Some feel fear, other might feel joy. Some have a physical orgasm during their final breath. It depends on our state of consciousness.
For better or worst most are looking forward to something as they leave their Earthly senses behind, but I say instead of looking for anything, feel the transition. Those who have done some work on themselves strive to separate the subtle from the gross with great ingenuity. If we are surrendered we might experience a very fine, light, and subtle feeling.
From my experience, I believe that there are many realms in the afterlife, and the body or covering we have depends on what realm we ascend to, and what is the material composition of that realm. The Earth is two-thirds water and so are our physical body, if you go into an airy realm your covering or body will be airy, go into a realm of brilliant light and you will also be light. The environment where we dwell influences our feelings. In my opinion.

A beginning to new life but with the future path would be chosen from your past's act.

I agree that your past effects your future, even in death. I worked at a hospital in San Antonio, Texas when a Mexican mafia boss was bought into the emergency room all shot up by police. The doctors could not do anything for him so they left him to die.
This guy, who probably killed a lot of people, or had them killed, was awake and he curled up in a ball on the ER table and cried when he found out he was going to die. He was terrified. I thought it was amazing how he had taken life and now it was his turn to die.
Some people pee on themselves or **** on themselves, most who do this had not prepared themselves for death. I have probably seen a hundred people die, and for most it is a smooth transition. It depends on whether it is a sudden death or a lingering terminal illness.
Often the person dying has accepted their death but their loved ones have not accepted their death, and that can influence the dying process also. To enter death alone is much different than entering death with a bunch of people around you. Also dying alongside of others who are also dying is a lot different. Our reaction depends on the strength of our preparation.

For better or worst most are looking forward to something as they leave their Earthly senses behind, but I say instead of looking for anything, feel the transition - Starman
