It's a thought I often have. However with a wife and 4 kids there's just too many important people that would suffer if it didn't work out. So I'm just a workman that provides for his family as best I can. I keep some poultry & a vegetable patch in the backyard so I can tinker & experiment with that lifestyle. I do find some therapeutic value in staying close to nature but I also find comfort and convenience in modern life.

To be honest I love modern life. I've had some experience roughing it, camping in the wilderness, and it was horrible. I felt cold at night, nowhere to go to the toilet, or wash my hands, felt so hungry and wasn't allowed to eat the hares, I returned home feeling so glad.

I'm a fan of modern life too! I've done camping and it just wasn't my thing....
But I love holidays and weekends in the countryside, I love my times close to nature and the peacefulness it brings and the sense of wonderment I feel in those kind of environments..... Just as long as Im staying in a country cottage with the basic mod cons!  |
