Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

personally i think, if jesus could walk on water we can probably fly. But it wouldn't any be fun the way the eastern masters do it... e.g. levitate without wings.

along the lines of what you said about the belief of 'not' being able to do things, the trick in my mind isn't to talk yourself into believing in such things so much as to quit talking yourself into not believing in such things...

so i figure it is another one of those situations where what you don't do is much more important that what you do.

Hi. I think placing this in Christianity allows me to talk about the power of belief,
(some say faith, I don't, personally) with a Christian perspective.
I love Jesus as a teacher of many things!

I would like to take the 3 men at his crucifixion. The one to Jesus' right
spoke to him. I believe he was a pretty 'bad guy'...yet,
Jesus demonstrated to the whole world the power of this criminal's simple faith or even hope - or wanting to believe in Jesus...so that here was Jesus saying...You're goin' to Paradise!
All this man's past or karma was erased in that bad guy's change of heart ;he believed in Jesus and asked him to remember him.
That is the power of faith or belief.
It tells us about God Himself, since Jesus said he only does what the Father wants.

"God's Will" is a WHOLE topic in and of itself. If it is in question - We see what God's Will is - as demonstrated by Jesus.
And why I wanted this in Christianity - more chance of 'believers' discussing Jesus' actions and words...and
what exactly did he want us to know.
God's Will is to heal, it's merciful - but, to me, I see just how much he wants our love.
He will even take a smidgen of belief or hope or to be acknowledged....even at the last moments of life of a criminal!

Jesus taught us we are gods - believe and receive; that our words and belief are SO powerful that Jesus would heal the soldier's servant, far from there, on the Centurion's BELIEF alone!

I see God's Will for us is change, growth...not at all the punitive God people think He is that Karma must be adhered to.
Not at all, as I see it.
Overpowering God? We have ALL the power - our love turns God into a puppy-dog of love.

A metaphor that comes to my thoughts is a kindhearted young man who has a mischievous monkey pet on his shoulder. Everywhere he goes people get mad at him as his monkey breaks things, throws stuff at people, scares people etc. People are like, "Oh I hate that guy!" He is no longer allowed in stores in his town. He is generating bad karma everywhere he goes. But then a zoo in town offers to buy his monkey and he decides to sell it. People then see him and smile. People invite him into their stores. He is then free of his karma. In my thinking the monkey is the ego or false self in this metaphor.

I think I am envisioning self understanding and self awareness and the discarding false identity as the factors that lead to a complete change in ones consciousness. Empty of "person" who is there to generate or carry bad karma? Who the young man was when he carried the monkey around was what generated the karma and it left when the monkey did. I see karma as that which generates a need for human experience. No karma to me means one can belong in higher realms instead of belonging on earth in human form.

1 Corinthians 15:44 There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

If the "seed" is consciousness, to what kind of body is it suited? An earthy one or a heavenly one?

Good story.
(Even tho it brought up images of my bad encounter with a small monkey
on a guy's shoulder that got angry at me...I might have said, No, to him or something...wow, not good...I'm gonna drop it now.)
But good story! :)
