Is there any explanation for disabilities?
Hi folks
Not real sure where to post this but if need be, please move to correct forum. I guess disability could fall under health but not entirely sure.
My question is apart from genetics, is there any spiritual explanation as to why disbilites exist? Why does The Creator put souls in a body that doesn't work properly. Why do we have things such as Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, Aspergers Syndrome (which is me).
I know it's a difficult question with obvious answers but is there more to it than just genetics?

You do not know what the desire of another soul may be, maybe not even the desire of your own.
The desire is to experience Life, to have an experience. That is why we come to the body, that is why we are incarnating on the earth plane, to experience ourselves as whatever we wish.
Why?
For growth, for evolution, for the simple experience of ourselves as the Creator (whether we see that or not).
I have too asked this question. There is a spastic girl that lives around the corner from me, and before I realized this I would always wonder why she decided to incarnate into the body of a spastic.
But after this realization, all I see now is the utter beauty of her experience. She is experiencing herself as she wishes, as her soul wants to experience. All I can do is admire her for her unnerving courage to be in such a body, and all I see is beauty.

I actually channeled this question to my guides.
Enlightener is right :) It isn't usually for THAT soul.. but for those of us that have the opportunity to know them! They are highly enlightened and evolved soul beings. :) They chose to come here disabled to teach the rest of us tolerance, compassion, unconditional love and humility :)
I thank them every day for being soooo gracious and so brave !! My brother in law has Down's and though he is 28, he has the mentality of a 4 year old. :) I can see his advanced soul in his eyes and I smile! :)

Yes, I am of the belief that The Creator sends us here to develop our souls, it's essential for us to come and experience life in the flesh.
I have Aspegers, I'm awkward, I feel my body doesn't work properly but my soul does.

in my opinion the children who are born with disabilities, teach us all lessons my niece had edwards syndrome that is really disabilitating. yet for the short time she was here. she was so loving and she taught so many people so many things. even the ppl who thought they were ok as far as they were concerned, learnt something from her.
i have a friend whos son has autism , she was told hes so bad he will never do anything hes 23, hes in college. hes defied what the doctors said and he enjoys life.

Damaged people are dangerous. They know they can survive!
Diseases (and Disabilities) can be our spiritual flat tires - disruptions in our lives that seem to be disasters at the time but end by redirecting our lives in a meaningful way. ~Bernie S. Siegel
We (us disabled folks) are here to show the world that nothing is impossible no matter what others think. I've been told that I'm the most positive, optimistic person people know! Eventhough I've had over 40 heart related procedures, 11 open-heart surgeries, and will need more as technology allows, I'm still here! And I'm already 23 years past my 'expiration date' at age 28! I love people and try to be there as much as I can physically handle. Love is worth living for, and love is, I believe, our ultimate goal here on earth.
I have never found myself wishing that I didn't have to go through it all. It has been with me my entire life and will continue to be. If I didn't have these issues, then I wouldn't be the person I am today! I wouldn't change ANYTHING that has happened. Keep your chin up! Hope, determination, and love for everyone & everything are the keys to living life!
