Is it alright for a Buddhist to pray to lord Jesus?

I am a Buddhist but sometimes when I need confidence and strength I pray to lord Jesus. It has been helpful. We as Buddhists know that Devas and angels exist and they protect and help us.So lord Jesus is one like that.I have experienced instant inner peace and raise of self confidence when I pray. wanna know whether it is alright.

I would say everything that does no harm is ok. Love is manifested in many ways.

Every practise which is wholesome is good
Zen Master TNH teaches about Jesus all the time, you might enjoy reading some of his Dharma talks.

Hell yes! oops, my bad.

Um, I pray to Jesus sometimes out of habit - raised an Episcopalian (protestant Christian); I pray to Buddha, I pray to Allah, because it's sometimes what I feel I need/want to do. In Buddhism, there are no 'gods', but there are no judgements about anything including praying or praying to god or gods. Not to worry, FrankieJG.

There is no separation because there is only one God. You can reach him in anyway that works for you, Bhudda, Jesus, ancestors, etc.

yes it's most definitely ok! For people of other faiths who still enjoy Buddhism can think of Buddhism as a philosophy as well. Youre not harming anyone or anything so, go for it!

First, there's no belief in and worship of a superhuman/god controlling power in Buddhism. If you want to pray to jesus, it's fine.
But the real question is,
It's not about if it's alright to pray to jesus or something else, but why you want to pray to jesus or to something else?
Because it's human nature that human looking for something powerful to relay on, shelter in,..... etc. So, why human looking for something powerful to relay on, shelter in,..... etc?
That's the real question and you have find the answer by yourself and in your own self.
*Note, the real inner peace will constantly stable with pray or without pray.

I surpose it's the same as ' why do some rely on teachers/gurus, Jesus was also a teacher
If it wholesome and brings benefits for you and all sentient beings then do whatever feels right, as the Buddha taught us.

A buddhist did not rely on teacher/gurus. Learn and getting guidance from teacher, and rely on teacher, both are 2 different things

Buddha never taught this. If you read something like this, it doest mean what ever you feel or what ever you want to. It has different meaning.

Some Buddhist do rely on Teachers, why do you need guidance from a Teacher because you rely on them to guide you, and if you read the Sutras you will find plenty of teachings on wholesome behaviour/actions.

'Perform only pious actions, these are wholesome '
The Buddha.

' Dasa Kusala Kamma ' might help you.
