Hi Orris,
my books are Doreen Valiente's "An ABC of Witchcraft","Natural Magic" and "Witchcraft for Tomorrow".I find these books amazing, with variety of information, they can guide your steps if you're a beginner or solitary witch.
Also i have found a very deep understanding in "Earth Magic:A Book of Shadows for Positive Witches" and "Words of Power,Transform Your Life-The Art of Manifestation" by Marion Weinstein.

I would recommend The Temple of High Witchcraft by Christopher Penczak because of its depth and lack of fluff.

The only book I read was Solitary Witch by Silver Ravenwolf, didn't like it. Her work revolves around her spell work without explaining how to write your own spells, and tools to utilize. I also read several reviews about her books in general that are considered fluff. I will look into the books you both mentioned. Thank you. :)
