Ode to Christmas Day

An acrostic poem.

Ode to Christmas Day

Children up at 3am
Hurrying to the tree
Rousing parents everywhere
It's those shouts of glee!

*****

Standing in the kitchen
Turkey set to roast
Mother with her sherry
And father calls a toast

*****

Soon the meal is over
Dishes to be done
Aunty's lost her dentures
Yuletide was such fun!

A dose of Yuletide mirth!

Good to see you back on the forum, dear Squaty. I missed your sunny presence.

Thank you noble knight. I shall pass on your good wishes to Lion, who is currently in the kitchen making us a butternut squash curry!
