The Twelve Days Of Christmas.

I was listening to a Childrens Carol Concert yesterday and they sung The Twelve days of Christmas which is very popular here in the UK. It suddenly made me think, is there some hidden meaning in this Carol (as some say) which is said to have been written by RC's in hiding during the Reign of Elizabeth Tudor when Roman Catholics were persecuted...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-r...istmas/zmvp2sg.
I will start with the first two and add more daily....
It starts as, "On the FIRST day of Christmas my true love sent to me" a partridge in a pear tree'
Could my 'true love' represent God, does the Partridge represent Jesus and the tree a cross. ( Some Partridges are said to sacrifice their life) to protect their Chicks.
On the SECOND day of Christmas etc.... 'Two turtle doves' do the two represent the Old and New Testament.

...Such a lovely idea Sky. I love this time of year . I also love to see the Nativity plays and hearing the children sing , as I also enjoy all the carol services and hymns broadcast from the churches and cathedrals...

On the THIRD day of Christmas etc:
Three French Hens. Could this be a reference to The Trinity or the gifts of the Holy Spirit , faith, hope and love.

On the FOURTH day of Christmas etc.
Four calling birds.Could the four be referring to four Gospels in the New Testament, or the four major Old Testament Prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel..
