Interesting to me: This morning I was on a forum that is about completely different aspects of life from those discussed here on Spiritual Forums. This other forum is about using money well, learning manual skills and home skills, gardening, and living as well as possible (materially, jobs, etc) in a world that's changing and tossing curves to individuals and families.

I stumbled onto a thread where someone (a woman) was talking about being betayed by an old best friend - a friend from college who had seduced and stolen her boyfriend. And now, many years later - and after numerous moves around the US map - it turns out the woman posting on the thread finds out she's somehow living in the same community as the old friend who betrayed her trust! She'll be meeting up with the old "best friend" at an upcoming school function that their children both attend!

So she's expressing her contemplations about what constitutes friendship - and, of course, contemplating (at present) the role of forgiveness in life.

Personally, I feel there's a big role in life for forgiveness. Foregiving isn't always easy to do. And I', mpt sure that forgiving always reults in a complete re-establishment of trust. But it's interestig how life sometimes works, and the thread I refer to above gives an example of that.
