I did this my senior year in high school. I apologize, the picture is a little dark, as the lighting in this area of my home isn't too great!. My mediums were oil pastels, & colored pencils. I based this work off of an image I found stumbling around on the internet. I think angels are so intriguing.
I was a little dissatisfied of how "cartooney" her face turned out. Unfortunately there's not much I can do about it now. :/

she done well, i especially like what she is sitting one. the shading makes it look 3d realistic. and her wings are gorgeous.

Hi Susan & welcome to the forum. :) Can't wait to see some of your work.
Unfortunately you have to be an active member here for 14 days & have 25 posts before you can link images to threads I believe. But once you get to that point you should post your art here!
I use an image hosting service where I copy the direct link once it is uploaded & there is a little icon in the right corner of the page where you post/type stuff that says "insert image" when you hover over it. Click it & it will ask for the link of the image & you just paste it where it says to & voillaa'! :)

Thanks for your kind words Gracey. I think I had the most fun with the oil pastels. The colors are easily blend-able together, & so fun to work with!

I decided to paint with acrylics tonight, this took me approximately one hour. lol. I actually kind of surprised myself with how decent it turned out. Painted with my imagination for once. Pretty simple but it's a start I think.

Precious babies! And nature is amazing! I saw a beautiful sunset last night while driving the kids home. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me. the sun and the sky looked so surreal, like a painting.

Honestly! It is all about the brush size & the gentle strokes that you make with it & that is the same way with charcoals, you use a variation of the light, medium, heavy pencils. This was actually very simple & anyone can make this painting, first off, I dabbed my bigger sized brush in water & painted blue through half the page & green on the bottom half. (I actually didn't do much of anything to the sky which is why I was so surprised that it gave off the effect of looking somewhat like stratus clouds.) But painting green all over the bottom half helped as a "filler" so I didn't have to do sooo many brush strokes. & making sure my smaller brush was absolutely dry, I just used a darker green color to stroke in the grass, & I used a variation of different greens for it which helped with that "3D" look!

Wow there's some really great artwork here, thanks for sharing!
I love to paint just for the sheer enjoyment of it and its very relaxing. This particular painting was inspired by the High Priestess in the Cosmic Tarot http://www.angelpaths.com/decks/cosm...priestess.html
This was done through a paint program through Corel...it was my 4th attempt and though I enjoyed it, still love holding the paint brush
