How does 'loving God' help self esteem?

Is there a place for loving God if you are trying to increase your self esteem? Does loving God help self esteem in any way? I would say it does; slowly but surely. God is the macrocosm, while self esteem is the microcosm. The two should go hand in hand, no?

For me loving god is loving who I truly am, god is all there is, nothing can be outside god, when one realizes their true inner SELF, how can you not but love who you truly are.

But there is still this difference between the micro and the macro. The self as I understand it is the micro. Loving God on the other hand involves loving everybody on the planet and more - the macro.

Yes that's so true, when we truly realize our true SELF, we then automatically love all, not necessarily the persons life, but who try truly are. But yes to love yourself as god, and at the same time see yourself separate, is to love the micro self, its not until we realize that we are all ONE, that we truly understand what love truly is.

Loving God has helped me to love myself. I think of God as full of possibilities that the world doesn't necessarily hold now, maybe ever. Parts of my self and dreams that don't seem to fit in this world, I find in God. I love God, and then I feel loved by God in return, sometimes. So I know that even when the world (and myself) don't see me as very useful and I can't express myself in the "real world", I can sometimes express myself to God and be loved just as I am, all my dreams and wishes and ideals. The world where I express myself and know myself with and in relation to God is just as real as any other, I start to think, even if I sense it less. This has helped me enormously with self-confidence and self-worth, sometimes. Only problem is, for me, my connection to God waxes and wanes. But I am still more confident, even when I don't sense God.

one thing that you should learn is to love yourself, because all beings are made by god and you should learn to love your self!

God is an extension of ourselves, loving yourself helps your self esteem. And to love the 'lower' aspects of ourselves is just as important.

This' where I am at...to love someone, really love someone you must know them.
Otherwise, you are (I am) loving some idea I have of them...maybe wanting them to be.

To love this Supreme Being, Creator of Universes infinitessamal and Infinite...I feel
I must know "Him", no gender.

When I got to know and understand "Him" (as He said in Jeremiah 9:23 area) I couldn't help
but love Him. Which is beside the point.

Your self esteem is the point....when I knew and understood God...I knew who I was..
His BELOVED and ADORED child. My God, I knew and felt a LITTLE of the breadth and depth and heighth and length of His Love for me, His creature and daughter.

I am a Princess....of my Father, a King...the most Brilliant, Magnificent Being ever, beyond
my imagination.

I say, know "Him" and then you will know who 'you' are....then be ready to be accused of being arrogant and prideful when you are filled with the Joy of knowing who you really are....part of that Being with all the power and wisdom and love at your disposal...as much as you can accept and allow in...

Love yourself as you are. How ever you may be. All of you. Thats how god loves i believe. Then you may become closer to god and with that comes inner happiness. Thats what i like to do.

Does loving God help your self esteem? It can if you allow yourself to receive the same love you give out. If you love a pet, or a loved one, does that love increase your self esteem as well? It can if you allow yourself to receive the same love back, and find yourself worthy of that type of love that you are releasing.. Otherwise you will find yourself able to put out, but unable to receive. Which will not increase your self esteem.

If you accept that you and God are part of the same macro, then you will find that in loving the macro you love yourself because you are the macro. Then your self esteem will start to increase when you feel you are ready to be loved by yourself to yourself.

So either way, your self esteem will increase when you love, when you accept that you are worthy of receiving love.
