Would it help us to understand ?

Would it help us to understand if the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil had been named the Tree of Death ? Any thoughts ?

One expression has 2 choices, the other has none.

I fail to see the choice….each tree can only produce one kind of fruit….not 2 different colors of fruit from the same tree….:)

To me death is the ultimate challenge. The Tree Of Knowledge Of Good & Evil represents such a challenge. So yes, the name of the tree could be interchangeable.

Yes…..2 trees of note in the Garden….one being the Tree of Life…..to indicate a lesson we would expect the other tree to be its opposite….for God to say “you will surely die” if eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil means that that tree brings death…..

To me...it is inclusive of many things ...one is death of the physical body, sure.
That's a big one and why God said it....but it ended the Paradise of many things...
that Knowledge brought Man from a Divine vibration down to an animal/flesh vibration and ALL that's meant by that.
The whole Pandora's Box was opened.
The Cosmic Game of coming back to our Creator God and back to our Divinity was begun!!
As I see it....and many others, too.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I would agree…..basically to know and discover God separation was necessary….for example: hard to experience love if there was no other…..because of separation it necessitated grace making return to God possible….I see a circle here: moving from non duality to duality and then, hopefully, back to non duality…..

One thing I have noticed about Death....is that it is quite happy to wipe out a whole family in a car accident. In that respect I do not agree with it. Gods like Krishna and Sai Baba are happy with such occurrences too - they find it all a part of their perfect will. When once says "everything is perfect and is as it should be" one is condoning things like death of an entire family in a car accident. That is where I deviate from the theory that everything is perfect.
