Hi Honza... I don't mind, but it seems to be a 'rule' (not sure where I can read it though) yet people everywhere, including here, state things as being total truths (thread title included).

Yes, you did. Thank you.

Reminder: Got problems with Staff decisions? Fine, don't bring it onto the Thread - pm the Admin or me about it.
It's even in the Rules.

Maybe God exists for those who need it and does not for those who don’t need it.

Just a thought tho.

It's got to do with self-imagery. Who is that guy, it's just some guy, I don't know him. People have ideas that there's a structure in which positions exist, and the word 'baba' names such a position. It's a permanent 'symbolic body' which a succession of living bodies are required to fill. Like a king. There is no king per se. There's a socially sanctioned narrative about a king, and different living bodies are born and die whilst the construct of 'king' remains a cultural constant.

If a baba claims 'I am God', or a Christian claims 'Christ is God', it's little more than semantics, and because it's fundamentally meaningless, people don't disagree as such, but they apply various meanings. The issues arise when people give undue importance to the discursive construct because their own self-image is entwined with the story that is essential to our own position within the overall cultural paradigm. We want the constant 'symbolic body' since our live body is, in fact, ephemeral.

In short. You and me play characters in a story and that's fine, but it's unimportant. It's like Bond, James Bond is fine, be it Connery, Moore or Craig. 'Who they are' doesn't matter. They are born, live and die as Bond remains continuous.

I understand that thought. My thought is:
''One day they will, oh boy, will they.''

In your opinion only.....
What has meaning and importance to some obviously doesn't to you. To each their own.... Imo....

If it works like that then the Tooth Fairy also exists.

True. Imagining someone exists does not make them real.
