Encounter with Naga Deity
In a recent dream, I found myself at a local Indian temple, walking through its halls until I reached the other end where I discovered a statue of Naga, the serpent deity. Seated in front of the Naga statue, I assumed a cross-legged position and closed my eyes to offer my prayers. To my astonishment, when I closed my eyes, the Deity's eyes opened! Taken aback, I quickly opened my eyes again, only to see the Deity back to its normal state(carved granite).
Still in dream, I closed my eyes once more to pray, and yet again, the Deity opened her eyes and communicated with me, saying, "You are drifting away from your spiritual path." Startled by this revelation, I opened my eyes, and the Deity returned to her usual appearance. This cycle of closing my eyes and receiving the same message happened three more times.
Adding some context, I come from a South Indian family with a tradition of praying to a Cobra shrine. However, it has been 15 years since I last visited that shrine, and I have been living in the US for the past 12 years.
I'm seeking interpretation or insights into the meaning of this dream. Any help would be much appreciated.
