Color New Year's Resolutions?

Anyone making any?

For myself, it's just a continuum of my ongoing spiritual direction - to develop the heart more.

My resolution for this year is to get rid of all of the 'junk' I have accumulated over the decades. I want to reduce everything down to the bare necessities and live a simple life.

I have been maintaining my 2017 resolution which was to give to charity and good causes every other day. I have slipped somewhat this year because I haven’t had as much cash on me, so I am now aiming to get back to doing this.

Commendable! Of course there are other ways of contributing to charities i.e. with our time - becoming a volunteer. I can thoroughly recommend doing this with a charity that you resonate with. Apart from supporting the cause and the feelgood factor, there's the added bonus of integrating more with the community e.g. for those who have become isolated.

Also re. the homeless: whilst many would not give them cash, compassion can be shown by asking them if they'd like a drink or food (e.g. a sandwich) should there be a convenient shop nearby. Whilst I might also suggest chatting to them, this can be more problematic since they have various conditions which may not make a conversation forthcoming.

There is something so refreshing and liberating about walking away in only the clothes you have on your back and starting again.
I only wish I could join you !

You probably have joined me a few times in the past. That is the beauty of pass lives.

In this life time, I have done it a few times.

This time will not be so dramatic. I plan 'taking' about 120-240 pounds of 'stuff' with me. Already packed about 4 pairs of shoes. Got rid of a lot of books but the remaining books and papers will take up the bulk and weight of what I will take. Medical equipment and medicines seem to consume a lot of the volume. Probably will get rid of some more 'junk' so I might reduce the weight to less.

I came in to say "no need to make new ones, last year's are practically untouched" but actually, my partner and I made a vow to each other this time: to continue our path and evolution towards an ever better communication!
