Vibes from others?

Hi all,
I often experience this weird energy feeling when someone thinks of me directly, especially if emotions are involved (theirs).

I very often even know who it is because the energy I catch carries their "signature", as well as sometimes what kind of emotion or intention it is.

A recent example was when I added a work colleague from a different department to my facebook (we have never met in person but had a lovely phone call before that).

All of a sudden, about an hour after I sent my friend request, I get this rush and I say to myself "ah they have seen it!" (I might add that I have turned notifications and emails off for the app because I do not like being distracted all the time!)

A couple of minutes later, I go check and there it was, the message that my request had been accepted, as well as a message saying "you have found me, how cool".

A other verifyable example was quite a few years ago, after my then boyfriend had left tomove to a different city further away. We broke up amicably because neither of us wanted a long distance relationship.

So one day, I got this weird vibe from him, mixed with some unknown to me "signature". When he called me later that day, he told me he had met someone new - to me, that was the new signature on his carrier wave.

An even longer time ago, I actually had to literally cut someone's energy off because they kept sending VERY disruptive sexual vibes... they got mad when I let them know, for the sake of transparency.

It happens a lot, but I cannot always confirm so it is difficult to trust it 100% - am I making it up? is often what I wonder.

Do others experience this? I am sure I can't be alone - but so far I haven't met anyone who does feel such things too, or doesn't patronise / humour me when I try to explain (guess they think I have a screw loose).

You are probably psychic. I am too, but I experience the spirit world differently. I think anyone who is psychic gets their own version of the spirit. Have never known two people who experience the same thing.

My advice is to protect yourself. There is a lot of negative energy out there.

Don't wanna be a party pooper but just something to consider. There are so many distractions. I lost count how many times I was convinced in the past about an exam result or a supposed 'connection' with someone only to be wrong. But, the times I happen to be right my mind may decide to remember that, discarding the times it was wrong. Write down the times 'intuition' turns out wrong. It is good training. In the end, whether useful or not, it is all distraction. Many people buying a lottery ticket really believe they will win, and the few that do will think it was 'meant to be', whereas many others that didn't win will forget about it, not pausing and reviewing intuition.

Sounds very similar to a few ideas Rupert Sheldrake has spoken and written about.

One he calls telephone telepathy, which is something a lot of us can relate to. It's where we think of someone we haven't thought of for some time, and a minute later they call or text you on the phone.

The other is when dogs know when their owners are about to come home. Some of his research here is really compelling.

We're all connected through consciousness, so it's not really surprising all this stuff occurs.

Yes, I'm Empath/ sensitive
As an example in a job I had (catering in house for 300 staff) , on two separate occasions with two different people I found myself "slurring " my words after serving them. I was starting to think I had a serious illness. This was a few years before I realised why I was "different" .
Afterwards I found out that both of these people mentioned above were alcoholics .
Then another time on a packed bus it stopped at traffic lights next to a shop that sold white goods.
So , while casually looking at the shop I got a "vision" of some kind of utility room with all the white goods in and an overwhelming sadness that was not very nice to experience.
I knew something bad had happened in a utility room and someone on that bus was re-vistiting that moment.

I have been suppressing this sensitivity for a very long time, and only the real strong ones come through...

Altair, thanks for your word of caution. I am not talking about general intuitions, (I don't really think I am what we'd call a psychic),although I heed the little voice when it says take the next exit on the highway - it usually turns out my normal one is really backed up!

What I mean is like an energy wave, uncalled for and very often out of the blue... nothing I can really control (yet?), and I am more of a receiver than a sender I think

I spoke with a friend about this, and during the conversation, I realised that, while it can be really disruptive to get those energy waves and signatures during the day and in the middle of doing completely unrelated things, I do no longer want to cut that part of myself off.

So I would like to learn how to control it (for lack of a better word right now). Do any of you have ideas, like how to protect or shield when I am not able to "take the call", and how to manage that shield so that I can take it down or open it when I am ready?

Possibly leaving it open enough so that "emergency calls" can still get through?

Are there tips, tricks, visualisations that help? Stones / gems to support me in this? Any ideas welcome, and many thanks in advance!

Oh boy. I made a mistake.

I had the audacity of commenting on a facebook post about the idea that restaurants could change tack and, instead of basing all their dishes on animal products and only begrudgingly offering one plant-based dish, base their dishes on plants and customers wanting to eat meat or meat products could order those as an add-on.

I thought it was a good idea because it is more inclusive (since then everyone can order what they want – but judging by the reactions I got, one would think I suggested everyone should go to hell and you can only buy your way out of it... wait. Someone already did that, but I digress!

Mainly what happened is that I now am faced with an anger that I can feel seething in my bowels, - and it is not mine, I had no stake in the argument they thought we were having. Trying to breathe through this discomfort.

Yes, I did say yesterday that I did not want to be completely cut off any more, but hey, baby steps, okay?? Thanks.
