Bones found in beach
Just wondering your thoughts, today I took my daughter for a walk along the beach here in the uk, when we came across some bones washed up on the shore, we could t carry them all, but there was a hip bone very human, I brought this leg knee joint home, which looks to have been snapped, has quite a bit of weight to it, and discolouration, we are going back out tomorrow in preparation to collect more, there is the chance the tide will take them out but also the chance to bring in, they seem very old, I have never came across human bones but this is definitely human, I wonder how long they have been out there, how far they have traveled, and who they were.

It's unlikely they could do much but I would let the police know you found what you think are human bones. It's hard to tell what kind of bones they are from the pics.

Yes I would certainly alert the police. It's very strange how "historic" bones have suddenly just washed up like that and all at once. It's very rare that bones of any kind get washed up on our beaches .

Yes I think you’re right, I am going to go back today if they are still there I report them and gather as many as I can.

I think that's the best thing to do. As I say, only the very odd tiny little animal bone gets washed up. Me and my kids spent many years fossil hunting on the English coastlines and very rarely came across a bone.
Even though they may be very old many people are lost at sea never to be found. If it's possible that anything can be done to find out who they belonged to it might bring closure to loved ones.
But please alert the authorities , even if there are no more bones.
I'm still finding it strange that they all washed up together which is giving me an uncanny feeling that they didn't wash up but could have been dumped.

I would leave them where they are and alert the police they have the proper tools to collect them and the correct people.
leave them where they are and call the police that would be my advice
Namaste

It's probably animal bones but I agree with the others, you should ring the police, just in case.
