This is what Wikipedia says about Nikola Tesla (Source being PBS as below, interview from 1937 Nikola Tesla as told to George Sylvester Viereck)
Tesla was raised an Orthodox Christian. Later in life he did not consider himself to be a "believer in the orthodox sense," said he opposed religious fanaticism, and said "Buddhism and Christianity are the greatest religions both in number of disciples and in importance".[263] He also said "Science is opposed to theological dogmas because science is founded on fact. To me, the universe is simply a great machine which never came into being and never will end" and "what we call 'soul' or 'spirit,' is nothing more than the sum of the functionings of the body. When this functioning ceases, the 'soul' or the 'spirit' ceases likewise".
“What one man calls God, another calls the laws of physics.”
SINCE time immemorial the most profound thinkers have tried to lift the veil that hides the beyond," said Mr. Tesla. "As for myself, I have read thousands of volumes of literature and thought for years in the hope that I might get some kind of evidence to show that death is not the end. But all in vain. To me the universe is simply a marvelous mechanism, and the most complex forms of human life, as human beings, are nothing else but automatic engines, controlled by external influence. "When we realize this as a fact we begin to grasp the great idea of Buddha--that self is an illusion. Indeed, we are nothing but waves in space and time which when dissolved exist no more"

These are also some of Tesla quotes:
"My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this Core, but I know this does exists"
"The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence."
"The gift of mental power comes from God, Divine Being, and if we concentrate our minds on that truth, we become in tune with this great power"
The first part is contradicting the last 3 Quotes, as the first paragraph states that he does not believe in spirit and afterlife, I got confused now.
Was he spiritual or not? Did he believe in spirit and afterlife or not?
