Getting a voice

This evening I started hearing a voice in my left ear. I can't make out the words but it's definitely a voice. I've been getting buzzing, ringing, whistling, bells and tinkling in my ears since after Christmas and that has always been there to some extent but intensifies during and after meditation. I don't have any medical issues that would be causing it and as it has coincided with visions I've put it down to psychic ability.

Earlier this evening I did my usual meditation and it was deeper than normal, more lights and dark shapes. I went to bed and the ringing in my ears become so loud it felt like someone was whistling straight through my ear into the other. I could make out different tones and I was trying hard to focus when suddenly my left ear went icy cold, so painful I nearly had to grab it, but it eased. Then I realised a tone in that ear had changed slightly to the sound one makes when tuning a radio - I could just about catch a frequency that sounded like a voice, but it was admist white noise. I've been listening since and while I can't make out any words, I'm 95% sure it's a voice.

How exciting is that

I can't believe how quickly this has all happened. Not sure if it's my guide or general noises of the spiritual realm, but it's wonderful to experience.

Not doubting what you say but are you sure it can't be tinnitus?

I hope it's not any medical thing, obviously you don't think it is.

No its not tinnitus! Trust me, I know my own body. Tinnitus doesn't get worse with meditation and doesn't come accompanied with white lights and spiritual visions. If you look up clairaudience you'll see the symptoms are very similar. I'm not an idiot and I wouldn't go around stating I was having spiritual experiences if it could be put down to something as simple as tinnitus. I've lived with medical issues for 13 years...I know my body.

I thought this was one place where I could share this stuff and not be doubted...it means a lot to me to share what I'm getting, it's so big...I'm really hurt.

Starbuck, don't feel hurt, you know what the truth is for your body.
I have been reading your posts and really admire the work you are doing to heal yourself plus more.

A few years ago, when I had may some of my chakras open I started getting tinnitus as well. I wish I was fortunate enough to be guided be some experienced people on SF at the time. Instead, I went to a leading ear specialist who was baffled because they thought my hearing was extremely sharp. So unfortunately, I worked at blocking out the static noises instead of tuning in.

You know what is right for you, so keep up the good work!

I've felt this way a lot myself. It's no wonder people's throat chakras are usually blocked up.

Thank you Clovelly, your post means a lot. I'm having a bad time at the moment and I guess I'm extra sensitive...

I know that you're more than aware how health issues can make us so 'tuned in' (excuse the pun!) to our bodies. I've had tinnitus in the past, and one particularly nasty bout after flu, and while the symptoms are similar, there is nothing about my current experiences that make me think its tinnitus. It's just ironic beause I'm a qualified alternative therapist as well as being ill myself, and have studied the relationship between mind and body in incredible depth, and yet I'm aware of all my experiences being spiritual. It is so exciting...but so frustrating when I can't share that.

It's such a shame that you learned to block out the white noise, but very easily done through no fault of your own.

My whistling and buzzing increases dramatically when I tune into it and this was how I started to make out the voice. It seems that when we put attention onto what's happening, we open up more. I was vibrating very high last night anyhow after a deep meditation, and my whole head was buzzy and odd, and I kept feeling electrical energy charges in my body. It was very strange but not unpleasant.

Anyway, rambling, but thank you for your post it is appreciated

Thank you In Progress...as I said to Clovelly, I'm probably extra sensitive and perhaps too eagar to share, but when there's so few people in my life I can share these spiritual developments with, it's so lovely to share them here. Feeling not understood is frustrating But I can understand how similar my experiences are to tinnitus and don't blame anyone for saying so. It's just one of those things I guess. It makes me wonder how many other people have such experiences and know in their heart of hearts that they';re spiritual and just don't tell anyone in case they're thought of as sick or mentally ill. I bet there's millions.
