size matters?

How big does a gemstone or crystal need to be to notice effects? I was thinking of getting some stones inside my ring so I can have them touching my skin but would it be too small?

It has to be at least 7.2 ounces to be effective. I'm kidding... the size depends on the type of gemstone or crystal you're talking about. You would be hard-pressed to find a cavansite specimen that's bigger than a couple inches, while other crystals come in monstrous sizes.

Size is not that important - a small crystal can have more energy than a large one. I believe the principle is that crystals almost always are part of a much larger original one and still connected like a living being. So the 'power' depends on the master crystal from which they came.

That said, would the sort of size needed to fit into a ring be just too small? I doubt it but there's no need to have it actually touching you in any case...

Depends on the type of crystal and the quality of it.
A small pink tourmaline can be very powerful, but other small ones will mostly have less power than their larger varieties, again depending on its quality. A high energy / frequency crystal will likely be more powerful than a larger variety of less high quality.
Also depends on what it has to do for you. Logically speaking a smaller one would get drained more easily than a larger one.
I.e. if you constantly get bombarded with other ppl's negative energy and you need shielding from that, you'd rather have a larger crystal that can handle all that.

I'm glad you mentioned pink tourmaline, that was one of the ones I want to use!

Mostly I use medium to large tumble stones and they seem to work just fine for me.
