This movie is about reincarnation. The Wachowski's are some of the most talented film makers today, and they are clearly very spiritual, and their movies contain many spiritual themes.
The movie will be released in theaters next weekend. 26th October 2012.
It will be interesting to see how Cloud Atlas pans out.

Reincarnation is a very rare theme in movies. My wife seemed to recall a Marie Corelli movie from the 1940s.
Any others come to mind?

No I do not think so. I have seen it and it is a fantasy about time-travel via self-hypnosis. Nothing about reincarnation. |

Maybe I'm wrong but I saw the reincarnation part as the guy who traveled back in time to fulfill the love he felt in his previous lifetime. But you're right, the time twist is the main point.
