hi belle,
i eat eggs from a local chicken rescue. you might be able to find "certified humane" eggs at your nearest whole foods, or an humane local farm.

i have found i feel best when i eat avocados in the morning - they are great with a bit of olive oil, salt, and pepper if you like, but my favorite is drizzling brianna's blush wine vinaigrette over them... so good!

there are a variety of gluten free cereals available with little sugar at whole foods, if you like the sweetness, i suggest drizzling on some raw honey & fruits :)

dates are great for energy too, add come coconut and cinnamon... yum!

i agree with the others on the bananas with nut butter. even a smoothie with bananas, peanut butter, and chocolate hazelnut milk...!

I'm trying to be organic and vegetarian - not vegan - but happy to hear vegan options as well.

And I'm looking around to consider what i might eat and I am not really spoilt for choice ....

Porridge ?

One of my problems with porridge is my ability to make it so it has the consistency of a brick and flavour of sawdust is high.

Quinoa is good, a bulk of that could be made up

Porridge, I can learn

I really like a decent breakfast (breakfast like a king, etc - trouble is I lunch and dine like a king!) but good to kick-start the day.

I don't eat Breakfast. I read it is actually contrary to popular belief the ''least'' important meal of the day, and that only the major cereal companies promote this ''myth'' because think about it, if you skip breakfast you aren't likely to have cereal for lunch or tea.

I personally just eat an apple or two. Sometimes a banana.

This is what I feel also, but so many are conditioned to believe they need to have breakfast and yes that is actually what the cereal companies want.

I don't eat cereal, but I do eat breakfast because with my job (teaching) I can't eat when I really feel hungry, which is around 9:00.

I agree to an extent, but you should also eat when you are hungry and/or know you will need energy.

For example after 9 hours of sleep it's probably smart to eat something nutritious if you work a job with some sort of physical labor involved or even just high stress.

Doesn't mean it has to be cereal.
