Singing and Drumming and the 3rd Voice

Hi there. Has anyone else experienced hearing a 3rd voice when either listening to a singer share a ceremony song with a Drum, or when you have sang with a Drum?

Years back, when a traditional knowledge keeper told me this happens sometimes, I admit I was skeptical.

But this has happened to me three times now. And today, it was with me singing and praying with the Drum.

Two times before, I was listening to a singer share a song and suddenly there was a 3rd voice I heard. As in, there was the human's voice, the Drum's voice ... and then a 3rd voice. Kinda eerie but in a good way.

Today I shared an Honour song with my work peers. I was really nervous because I work in a pretty ego-based organization, so Drum songs don't usually fit in unless they are shared at a distance. But this was at a meeting so it was a little more closer to them. This morning before the meeting, I prayed and asked for help and support. When I stood to share the song, the nervousness just disappeared, and I comfortably dropped down into the energy of the song.

Then I heard it - a deep man's voice suddenly started singing with me. A little startled, I glanced up, wondering who else was singing. Nobody's lips were moving, and I don't think anyone else in the meeting knew the song. I suddenly felt like I was not "alone" singing, but that a Helper spirit had heard me and came to sing with me.

It was beautiful. It was with a new Buffalo hide drum too, that a young nephew recently gave to me.

Anyone else experience this?

Drumming as you are doing, does bring in helping spirits. I always experience what you are experiencing. That is why we do what we do.

Love to hear this. I will continue to listen for the 3rd voice!

I was at a sun rise ceremony in Monument Valley a few years back and a young man was playing a flute and a second was standing on a rock singing in Navajo, we heard a second flute.. It was a privilege to be present this was my second time there for that ceremony and each time something happened...
