Maybe you didn't get enough water. Also low blood sugar can make people feel moody.

I don't meditate much, but I know what bothers me is sound. I can't focus. So if you were in the park and there were people or distractions around, my advise would be to find a place of complete and total silence so you could hear yourself and your guides and could connect better with your inner self.

I'm not 100% convinced about diet - myself and my teacher at circle both have not-so-good diets - I get very good results as a developing medium and my teacher has amazing results performing platform mediumship. One thing to make sure of is hydration. Water is the best way (water is a conductor) but I've been okay after drinking coke. I even managed it last week after having a beer, although it wasn't so clear.

When I get like that it is because im out of balance, I do a guided chakra meditation to clear my chakras makes me feel better everytime, check on youtube there is a bunch there

How much you meditate is the best indication as to how well you connect to spirit eating healthy has got nothing to do with it,if you have mediumystic abilities you will have despite what size you are. meditation is the best way to connect to your guide if you find that hard to do listen to soothing music before you meditate.sitting cross legged visulise your self sitting in a pyramid full of white light,and to ground yourself just visulise roots coming from under your feet anchoring you to the ground,

Don't try. Just feel. Feel the connection. You're focused too much on the journey. Do what you feel will work. That is your best bet. Hold in there. Also as far as Diets go, listen to your body. It'll tell you what you need.
