Whom is this figure?
I am going to be very embarressed if I am wrong to think this figure is Buddhist.

From what I gather it is Buddha! Representing Theravada Buddhism.
I thought so, it's just I am use to the larger jovial Buddha.

Hi, Yes, looks like a Buddha from the southern traditions.
I thought you were going to be talking about the ascetic Buddha which does look quite different from anything else..
