Spring flowers in the snow

Whenever I see daffodils, daisies or buttercups or any other spring flowers starting to sprout through snow, I feel intense joy inside. It reminds me of a dream I had years ago where I was walking along a path covered in thick snow and suddenly I saw a beautiful daffodil shining its golden petals across the otherwise endless sea of white. Emotions are so much more intense in dreams and I started to cry as I realised that life does not die, it renews itself over and over no matter how harsh or barren the winter.

That beautiful daffodil, and many other flowers, reminds me to always have faith in the intelligence of life that is working in ways we cannot see while in the depths of our own personal winter.

Ah you’ve just reminded me of when I was last in the UK during winter I remember seeing some lovely Crocus flowers popping up thru the snow and it brought joy to my heart. Such a simple thing, but made me feel so good.

Yes, it's a lovely sight.
The first blooms are snowdrops and crocus and they are usually the ones that get covered in snow.
Those are the winter flowers.
Then we do of course get the daffodils etc in the spring but as we all know in the UK we can still get snow ( and often do in spring !! )

Ah yes snowdrops and crocuses look so beautiful in the snow. The bright colours against white and all it symbolises...it's just such a heavenly sight :)

And indeed Angelblue, the amount of times spring begins followed by a final blast of winter, covering everything in snow. I do feel bad for the poor bees though.

I used to grow crocuses and daffodils. I loved growing them in great big fairy rings.

Wordsworth's "daffodils" , such a lovely poem.
And of course , after the crocus', snowdrops, daffodils and tulips come the bluebells.
How gorgeous in a woodland . How perfect. I used to dream about a garden full of them !
So imagine my surprise when I moved to my house in January. And you do of course have to go all year round to see how your garden develops each season.
My friend was staying with me when we could see what looked like hundreds of plants sprouting , just the stem and leaves and my fiend said "they are lupins ".
They werent . They were bluebells , thousands of them !!!!
And of course, even in may over here they can get a covering of snow !

I couldn't believe it and didn't expect it right next to the sea .

We have a lot of bluebells here in the spring too, it's such a sight to see!

We don’t have any of those gorgeous plants in Aussie but in September we have, what they call Native Flowers blooming across all the bush. Beautiful in their own right, but only last a month or two. If you google Australian flower “Everlastings” or “Desert Pea” you can see how pretty they are.
