Case study of why you shouldn't read when you're feeling off?

Came across one of Pisces Moon's suggested spreads today:

1) "do this"
2) "don't do this"
3) Likely outcome if advice is followed

So I asked "What can I do to up my self-healing game?"

1) "Do this": Ace of Cups.

YES! I can do this one! Vision of looking upwards and being showered in a gentle rain of self-love. On it.

2) "Don't do this": Ace of Pentacles

Bit confusing, but sure, sit still and focus on self love rather than packing it up to go.

3) Likely outcome if advice followed: Knight of Pentacles reversed

:/ I'm out. Unless it refers to this guy putting the pentacle and getting off his horse (seriously, the vibe here is that he wants off this ride)

Cups are active to me, whereas pentacles are inactive. Healing takes effort. You can't just sit there and expect it to happen

I always see the Ace of Pentacles as a seed. The message is telling you that you're not a seed that's waiting to grow. You're a tree that's constantly growing, and the longer you grow, the more rooted into the earth you become and the more comfortable you feel in your own skin.

Maybe you need to focus more on emotional aspects, that make you feel good, rather than practical (material) aspects.

Be less reliant on that giant pentacle, lol.

Or maybe the pentacles being about health, it's saying don't expect the hand of God to miraculously fix it - you've got to do it yourself.

Maybe you've got to get off that horse and walk, 'cause you're not going to move otherwise, lol. (Which says to me, get off your seat away from your desk - those pentacles are still going to be there when you get back).

What deck did you use? Have you got a pic of the Knight of Pentacles?

Pandora - just RWS. Here's the knight of pentacles reversed - it confused me because reversed, it's not usually a positive outcome...

If it's any consolation tealily - I didn't do anything with the cards yesterday, having a splitting headache all day I knew it was going to be a no go. Sometimes a new day helps

This is true. Although I also try to not read for myself whenever possible - it's better for my sanity

Awwww ... thanks tealily. Yes, it's better - not completely gone, but bearable. I'm going to tackle a reading later ... so we'll see!

I've kept away for a few days, for a similar reason (I had a bizarre meditation session and still feel a bit spaced out from it two days later). It's strange what can throw your intuition off kilter.
